SM45 Mould Steel Bar

 

SM45 steel is a high-quality carbon plastic mould steel, compared with the quality of 45 carbon steel structure, the steel in the sulfur, phosphorus content is low, steel purity is good. Due to poor hardenability of the steel, the manufacture of larger plastic molds, generally hot-rolled, hot forging or normalizing state, the mold of low hardness, poor wear resistance. 


When produce small plastic mold, with quenching and tempering can be higher hardness and better toughness. High carbon steel, water-prone cracks, the general oil quenching. The advantages of the steel is cheap, good machinability, high hardness after quenching, quenching and tempering has good toughness and a certain degree of wear resistance, is widely used in the manufacture of small, medium and low grade Plastic mold.

SM45 steel flat bar is widely used for all industrial applications requiring more wear resistance and strength. Typical applications as Gears, Pins, Rams, Shafts, Rolls, Sockets Axles, Spindles,  Worms Bolts, Ratchets, Light gears, Studs, Crankshafts, Guide rods, Connecting rods, Torsion bars, Hydraulic clamps.
