MAXIL® 960 High Strength Steel Plate

MAXIL® 960 is a High-Strength, Water Quenched and Tempered Fine-Grain Structural Steels. MAXIL®960 can be cold-formed transversely to the rolling direction while maintaining a bending or beveling radius of> 5 times the sheet thickness along and> 4 times the sheet thickness. Subsequent stress relief annealing is possible up to a temperature of 580 ° C.

Hot forming

Hot forming above 580 ° C is possible. Afterwards, a remuneration corresponding to the delivery condition is to be carried out.

Machining

The cutting speed for drilling with cobalt-alloyed high-speed steels of the HSSCO type should be approx. 13 -18 m / min, for carbide drills approx. 20-25 m / min.

Thermal cutting

The material should have at least room temperature. For sheet thicknesses> 25 mm, we recommend preheating to 150 ° C and> 50 mm to 175 ° C.

Welding

MAXIL®960 is suitable for all known welding processes. The material should have at least room temperature. For sheet thicknesses> 10 mm, we recommend preheating to 75 ° C,> 20 mm to 100 ° C and> 30 mm to 175 ° C. The interpass temperature should be 175 - 225 ° C.

These details are indicative. In general, the information given by SEW 088 must be observed. The t8 / 5 times should be between 5 and 15 s, depending on the welding process. Stress-relief annealing for design reasons should be carried out in the temperature range of 530-580 ° C.
