45S20 Free Cutting Steel Bar

 

45S20 is an international standard free cutting steel grades, sulfur-based free cutting steel, widely used in the production of drill chuck, shaft, rod and other products. The China GB standard should be GB/T8731-2008, and the corresponding grade should be Y45 or Y45Mn

 

Chemical Composition:

 

  • Carbon: 0.42~0.50
  • Silicon: 0.10-0.40
  • Manganese: 0.50~0.90
  • Sulfur: 0.15~0.25
  • Phosphorus: ≤0.060

 

Mechanical Properties:

 

  • Tensile strength σb (MPa): 740-900
  • Yield strength σs (MPa): 470
  • Elongation δ5 (%): ≥5
  • Reduction of area ψ (%): ≥15
