AISI 1212 Free Cutting Steel Bar
AISI 1212 is a US standard free-cutting steel, is for good cutting, deliberately increase the S, P and other elements in the steel content, so that the steel becomes brittle, the cutting chip easily broken, good chip removal; the same time due to crisp, Good cutting steel (think about cutting cucumber and cut meat, which is more crisp).
This steel is mainly used to process such as mechanical watches in the shaft of such small parts, to facilitate automatic lathe continuous processing
