7CrSiMnMoV

7CrSiMnMoV Hardware Tool Steel Bar


Flame hardening cold work tool steel, high carbon low alloy tool steel. High toughness cold work tool steel.

7CrSiMnMoV is a high strength, flame and induction hardening steel delivered prehardened to 250-290 HB. The surface of the steel can be flame hardened without water cooling. The hardened and tempered matrix provides good support for the flame hardened layer. 7CrSiMnMoV is particularly suitable for tools with surfaces exposed to abrasion and which can be flame hardened.

Characteristics of 7CrSiMnMoV:


1. 7CrSiMnMoV is a new type of cold work tool steel, also known as flame quenching cold work tool steel. It belongs to the series of high carbon low alloy cold work tool steel. The typical elements of 7CrSiMnMoV are Cr, Si, Mn, etc. A small amount of strengthening elements, like Mo and V are also included.
2. The range of quenching temperature of 7CrSiMnMoV is very wide, but the thermal sensitivity is very low. Flame quenching is characterized by simple operation, low costs and saving resource.
3. The hardenability of 7CrSiMnMoV is good. It can be hardened by cooling in air. Its hardness can reach 62 ~ 64HRC. The quenching deformation is very small.
4. 7CrSiMnMoV has high strength, good toughness and relatively high wear resistance after heat treatment. It is suitable for making various types of manual mechanical wrench, screwdrivers, pneumatic chisel, heavy duty punch, scissors, heavy vibration cutting and so on. It is strongly recommended for manufacturing cold work tool steels requiring large dimension, thick section and small deformation during quenching.

Delivery condition of 7CrSiMnMoV:

Annealed, Hardness 217 ~ 241HB.


Thermal processing of 7CrSiMnMoV:

7CrSiMnMoV should be preheated to 800~900℃before forging.

1. Round bars: Φ25 mm~ Φ200 mm.

2. Size of flat bars: 15 ~130 mm* 120 ~610 mm.


Applications of 7CrSiMnMoV:

7CrSiMnMoV is equipped with very good comprehensive mechanical properties. It can be used in all kinds of cold work tool steels, such as sheet punching die, sizing die, trimming die, cold extrusion die, etc. 7CrSiMnMoV can be quenched by flame. 7CrSiMnMoV can take place of T10A, 9Mn2V and Cr12MoV to manufacture cold work dies requiring high toughness. The service life of the dies made of 7CrSiMnMoV is significantly improved. If the cold work dies demand much higher toughness, Cr8Mo2SiV (DC53), Cr12Mo1V1 (D2), 5Cr3Mn1SiMo1V (S7) and Cr5Mo1V (A2) are for your selections.
