16MnCr5 Structural Steel Bar
16MnCr5 is a Chinese GB Standard structural steel, similar to China GB standard 16CrMnH steel in GB standard GB/T 5216-2004 . It has better hardenability and machinability. Machine parts which produced by 16MnCr5 can be with larger cross-sections, higher surface hardness and surface hardness can be obtained after heat treatment. Abrasion resistance and low-temperature impact toughness are also high. 16MnCr5 gear steel is used after carburizing and quenching. It is mainly used to manufacture gears, worms, seal sleeves and other parts. 16MnCr5 belong to China GB standard: Standard: GB/T 3077-1988 .
16MnCr5 also can be produced by Electroslag remelting (ESR) in order to reduce the P (≤0.0015) and S (≤0.0015) content, get equal and high quality crystal organization, which can make 16MnCr5(ESR) steel have very good quality on abrasion, fatigue strength performance. Our German customer Rheinmetall buy our 16MnCr5(ESR) steel bar with 90mm diameter and we get good reputation from them.

Hot forming and heat treatment:
Forging or hot rolling: 1100 - 850°C
Normalising: 840 - 870°C/air
Soft annealing: 650 - 700°C/furnace
Carburising: 880 - 980°C
- Core hardening: 860 - 900°C/oil
Intermediate annealing: 650 - 700°C
Case hardening: 780 - 820°C/oil
Tempering: 150 - 200°C
