35S20 Free Cutting Steel Bar
35S20 (DIN 1.0726) is a low sulfur phosphorus composite cutting steel, its cutting performance is better than 30 steel, heat treatment process is basically the same, quenching sensitive or slightly worse, according to the shape of parts, the complexity of the choice of quenching medium. 35S20 is used to manufacture non-heat-treated standard parts with high strength requirements and can also be used to make heat-treated parts.
Chemical composition:
- Carbon C: 0.27 to 0.35
- Silicon Si: 0.15 to 0.35
- Mn: 0.70 to 1.00
- Sulfur S: 0.08 to 0.15
- Phosphorus P: ≤0.06
Mechanical properties:
- Tensile strength σb (MPa):
- (hot rolling) 510 ~ 655;
- (cold drawn) steel thickness or diameter:
- 8 ~ 20: 530 ~ 755;
- > 20 ~ 30: 560 ~ 765;
- > 30: 540 ~ 735
- Elongation δ5 (%): (hot rolling) ≥ 15; (cold rolling) ≥ 6.0
- Section shrinkage ψ (%): (hot rolling) ≥25
- Hardness: (hot rolling) ≤ 187HB; (cold drawn) 174 ~ 223HB
Delivery status:
Delivery in hot or cold-drawn condition, delivery status should be indicated in the contract.
