60Si2Mn Spring Steel Wire Bar

60Si2Mn is widely used silico-manganese spring steel with slightly higher strength, elasticity and hardenability is better than 55Si2Mn. 60Si2Mn spring steel is used to produce flat springs with larger loads or coil springs with a wire diameter of less than 30mm, and is also suitable for making heat-resistant springs in non-corrosive media with a working temperature of 250 ℃ or less, and to withstand alternating loads and high stresses. Large-scale important coiled springs and automobile shock absorption systems that work underneath.

60Si2Mn heat treatment methods include isothermal tempering, graded quenching, sub-temperature quenching, high temperature tempering, and deformation heat treatment. Using this method can effectively improve the strength and toughness and service life of 60Si2Mn spring steel.

  • Annealing of 60SI2MN Spring Steel

Slowly heated to 740-770 ℃ and allow enough times, let the steel to be thoroughly heated, Then cool slowly in the furnace. The 60SI2MN tool  steel will get MAX 250 HB (Brinell hardness).

  • Hardening of 60SI2MN Spring Steel

60SI2MN steels should be heated uniformly to 830-860°C (1526-1580°F) until completely heated through. About 30 min per 25 mm of ruling section is to be provided and then the steels should be immediately quenched in oil. Get Hardness 61 Min.

  • Tempering of 60SI2MN Spring Steel

Tempering of 60SI2MN steels is performed at 480-530°C, Soak well at the selected temperature and soak for at least one hour per 25mm of total thickness. Hardness values at different temperatures after tempering HRC: 150°C-61HRc,200°C-60HRC,300°C-56HRC,400°C-51HRC,500°C-43HRC,550°C-38HRC,600°C-33HRC,650°C-29HRC.
