S55C Structural Steel Bar

S55C equivalent to China's high-quality 55 # steel carbon steel. Like 45 # steel belongs to the high-quality carbon steel in the high-carbon steel. The steel is made of electric furnace, open hearth furnace or pure oxygen converter steelmaking all-static steel, with excellent workability, microstructure and uniform characteristics. The steel is cheap, easy to process, suitable for high frequency quenching, flame hardening and other surface hardening treatment. The carbon content of the steel (mass fraction,%) ≥ 0.4, excellent wear resistance, but the ductility decreases, deformation and cracking easily quenching, so quenching is extremely important and must be quenched after tempering to avoid temper brittleness.

The full name of s55c is F-S55C, which is specially produced by Futaba Co., Ltd. by Kobe Steel. Usually the "ace" (ace) in the mold industry is this kind of steel. The service life of plastic molds made of this kind of steel can reach more than 300,000 times, which is not achieved by ordinary No. 50 and No. 45 steel. At the same time, the grain size of F-S55C is refined, and there are very few internal material defects such as blisters. Although the carbon content of 0.55% is slightly higher than that of No. 50 and No. 45 steels, the machinability is very good. Of course, its price is much more expensive than No. 50 and No. 45 steel.

The steel cutting difficulties, the need for ball treatment to improve the cutting performance, in principle, tempering hardness 19 ~ 22HRC, in favor of mechanical processing. Supply status and hardness of 149 ~ 192HBS, 183 ~ 255HBS, 229 ~ 285HBS.
