7065 Aluminum Alloy Plate

7065 aluminum alloy to provide higher strength and similar or improved fracture toughness relative to legacy 7000-Series alloys at intermediate product thick-nesses of 1.0 to 6.0 inches (25.4 to 152.4 mm).  Alloy 7065 aluminum alloy plate is available in T7451 and T7651 tempers. The corrosion resistance (exfoliation and stress corrosion cracking resistance) of 7065 is comparable to that of legacy 7000-Series for a given temper, as demonstrated in both accelerated and seacoast environment. 7065 is high zinc containing aluminum alloy. It is used for making plate.

Applications:

The combination of high strength and fracture toughness properties and corrosion resistance makes 7065 suitable as a replacement for 7010, 7050, 7075, 7475 and other alloys for critical intermediate thickness applications. These include but are not limited to spar, rib, and integrally machined structural parts for new, derivative, or retrofit aircraft.
