AISI 1008 Cold Heading Steel Bar

AISI 1008 is a high-quality carbon structural steel, the US standard 1008 equivalent GB 08 steel. Carbon content less than 1.35% (0.1% -1.2%), in addition to iron, carbon and within the limits of silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and other impurities, the steel does not contain other alloy elements.

The performance of carbon steel depends mainly on carbon content. Increased carbon content, steel strength, hardness, plasticity, toughness, and solderability decreased. Compared with other steel, carbon steel used the earliest, low cost, the wide range of performance, the largest amount. Applicable to the nominal pressure PN ≤ 32.0MPa, the temperature is -30-425 ℃ water, steam, air, hydrogen, ammonia, nitrogen and petroleum products and other media.

Common grades are WC1, WCB, ZG25 and high-quality steel 20,25,30 and low-alloy structural steel 16Mn. AISI 1008 carbon steel has excellent weldability, which includes projection, butt, spot and fusion, and brazen ability.
