34CrMo4 Structural Steel Bar

 

34CrMo4 (1.7220)  structural steel is a kind of high endurance strength and creep strength at high temperature, good low-temperature impact toughness, good hardenability, no tendency to overheat, small quenching deformation, good plasticity at cold edge, High-quality structural steel with medium machinability. 34CrMo4 structural steel has poor weldability. It requires preheating before welding, post-weld heat treatment and stress relief. It is generally used after quenching and tempering. It can also be used after high and medium frequency surface quenching or quenching and low and medium temperature tempering. 

 

34CrMo4 structural steel mainly used as important structural parts working under high loads, such as transmission parts of vehicles and engines; rotors, main shafts, heavy-load transmission shafts of turbo-generators, large-section parts 34CrMo4 used to manufacture higher strength than 35CrMo  steel And forgings with larger quenched and tempered cross-sections, such as large gears for locomotive traction, supercharger transmission gears, rear axles, extremely loaded connecting rods and spring clips, 34CrMo4 can also be used for oil deep well drill pipe joints and fishing under 2000m Tools etc.

Heat treatment specification: 

  • quenching 850℃, oil cooling; 
  • tempering 550℃, water cooling, oil cooling.

 

Delivery status: 

Delivery with heat treatment (normalizing, annealing or high temperature tempering) or without heat treatment. The delivery status should be indicated in the contract.
