UNS N08926 is a super austenitic stainless steel with 6% molybdenum added to improve performance by adding nitrogen. It contains nickel and chromium makes it in a very corrosive environment have good corrosion resistance. The alloy of non-oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid has a very good corrosion resistance. The high molybdenum content and nitrogen make it able to resist pitting and crevice corrosion, and the copper contained can increase its resistance to sulfuric acid.
UNS N08926 alloy is a fully austenitic alloy containing 6% molybdenum and offers excellent corrosion resistance in many corrosive aqueous environments. When ordinary corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel (AISI 316 and 317) reaches its limit, it can replace these stainless steel. In addition, the alloy can be used as an economical alternative to high-nickel alloys in an ocean and chemical environment.
